Use your own AI key

Use your own AI provider account instead of Nelix Agent.

Settings → AI models lets you choose Nelix Agent (the default) or My own account.

  1. Choose the provider (Anthropic, OpenAI, DeepSeek, Google Gemini, or a Custom address for a self-hosted model your administrator approved).
  2. Paste your API key and choose a model for each level (fast, standard, deep).
  3. Set a monthly spending limit, and press Test connection.

Your key is stored encrypted and is never shown again after saving: only its last four characters. Delete key removes it for good.

Requests on your own key do not use your Nelix Agent allowance; your key's spending limit applies instead. You get a warning at 80% and requests stop at the limit.

A team or university administrator can set one key for the whole team; members can use it but cannot see it.

Every model goes through the same Nelix checks, whoever pays for it.
